Under normal circumstances it will be completed within 2 to 4 days from when you make the initial enquiry. At We Can Buy Your Stairlift you can take advantage of a vast logistical network system that has full coverage of the United Kingdom, so no matter where you are we will be able to assist.

How long does the actual removal process take?

This will depend on the product being removed. For a simple straight stairlift this will usually be completed within an hour, however some complicated curved stairlift systems and in particular home lifts or platform lifts will take a little while longer although certainly within the day.

Will I need to re-carpet my stairs after the stairlift is removed?

No, almost all stairlifts are screwed directly down to the stair treads and only leave a slight indentation in the carpet where the foot has been. This can easily be removed by rubbing the carpet with a stiff brush.

Will the removal process leave marks in my carpet?

Depending on the type and pile of the carpet you may see some ‘flattening’ of the pile after the lift is removed. What days of the week do you remove lifts?

We have various options on removal dates, for those who maybe on a “buffer time slot” to vacate their premises, we always endeavour to coincide with these dates or as close to it as possible, if a specific day is required then please note this could effect any values and potentially charges applied as we would have dedicated our journey to accommodate a specific date, it is always advantageous to allow as much flexibility as possible that is close the date, this would of course minimize any charges where applicable.

What about if my property is empty?

We do accommodate stair lift removals where the property has been vacated and the property is in the hands of an estate agents, we quite often either collect and return keys from the estate agents or when there is a key safe at the property and continue to remove the stair lift and following up necessary documentation confirming the removal completion.

How do I make / receive payments?

We are able to make and receive payments in various ways. BACS, ‘faster payment’ bank transfer or good old fashioned cash if you prefer.

Do Charities take unwanted stairlifts ?

Generally many charities won’t take unwanted stairlifts, we have tried several and because a stairlift requires professional engineers to re-install them, there maybe charities that we haven’t come into contact with that may take unwanted stairlifts.

Do you take the full stairlift away?

Yes, we take the full stairlift away along with the rail system, in many cases particularly curved rail stairlifts, the rail systems are fully tailored for each specific staircase, we remove all of this and recycle tailor made rail systems, all you are left with is a “flattening” on the carpet where the stairlift “feet” have been fastened down to the stairs, see our frequently asked question above “Will the removal process leave marks in my carpet” to see a video link to see a method of making the carpet pile return.
